‘Europe’s secret islands of adventure’ is what this archipelago is known to be called. Even though they recognize its main island, Terceira, on UNESCO World Heritage List, this place seems to get overlooked by many but it is slowly becoming more and more popular. The archipelago consist of nine islands divided into the eastern, central, and western groups. Emerald green and turquoise blue lakes, untouched pastures, volcanic remains, and a plethora of hydrangeas and azaleas describe only part of what your experience here would be like. Anyone could be convinced to come visit by simply looking at the pictures!
Tbilisi has an incredible amount of history dating back to the 5th century. Due to its location on Kura River and in between Europe and Asia, Tbilisi was known as the ancient crossroads and point of contention for different global powers over time. Plus, being so close to the Silk Road brought many people from near and far, especially those associated with higher powers. Along with the many years this city has been alive comes with many years of architecture and to this day, there are remains from the Medieval era, the Neoclassical style, Beaux-Arts style and even Modern style buildings. Any history lovers should put Tbilisi on their list soon because this place will soon become one of the many crowded touristic destinations.
Another city with ancient roots is Chengdu, China. With history dating back to the 4th century B.C., this used to be the capital for the Shu Kingdom. Today, Chengdu is known for its hip and modern conversions of warehouses and ship containers into restaurants, art galleries, and microbreweries. Home to about 15 million people and to about 80% of the world’s giant pandas, one can only imagine all of the fun things to do in a large city like this one. Sooner or later, this city is going to be one of the top places to visit, so get your plans ready!
Off the Cambodia’s southern coast, there are an array of beautiful islands among the Gulf of Thailand. Koh Rong Samloem, a perfect island for those traveling as a couple on a honeymoon, will be the ultimate relaxation while you bask in the sun far away from the tourist hustle and bustle. While on the other hand, Koh Rong is an island has more of a nightlife vibe but also has its fair share of secluded beaches. To add to the island’s wild side is their exciting High Point Adventure Rope Park where you can zip line 25 meters high to get an amazing view of the whole island. These are only a two of the unique, untouched islands of Cambodia that have so much to offer. From November to March are the best months to come visit and there is a ferry that runs from Sihanoukville three times daily to both of these islands so those dreams of beautiful, far, far, away places and really come true!
This ‘White City’ is the capital and largest city in Serbia and is home to almost 2 million. With proof of the origination of the Vinca culture here, this city dates back to the Paleolithic and Mesolithic eras which is a remarkable type of history that not many places have under their belt. Today, Belgrade is mostly known as a nightlife city with great parties and music playing all along the bohemian street, Skadarlija, until the early mornings. There are many historic buildings, ancient artifacts, impressive museums and delicious foods that sum up Belgrade’s appearance, but its up to you to see it for yourself!
